1. Preparation
Gather all ingredients on a clean countertop.
Slice the bagels in half using a serrated knife.
Spread a generous layer of cream cheese on each half of the bagels.
Slice the cucumber into thin rounds.
Chop the red onion into thin rings.
If using capers, rinse them under cold water to remove excess salt.
2. Assembly
Place the smoked salmon evenly on top of the cream cheese on each bagel half.
Layer the cucumber slices on top of the smoked salmon.
Add a few rings of red onion over the cucumber.
Sprinkle capers on top if using.
Garnish with fresh dill or a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
3. Serving
Serve the assembled bagels on a clean plate.
Optionally, cut each bagel half in half again for easier eating.
Pair with a side of fresh fruit or a simple salad for a complete meal.
