Ingredients (1 serving)

  • 1. beef
  • 2. soy sauce
  • 3. brown sugar
  • 4. vegetable oil
  • 5. lime juice
  • 6. ground coriander
  • 7. bamboo skewers
  • 8. creamy peanut butter
  • 9. coconut milk
  • 10. chili paste

Cooking method

1. Preparation

Cut 500g of beef into thin strips, about 1 inch wide.

In a bowl, mix together 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 1 tablespoon lime juice, and 1 teaspoon ground coriander to create the marinade.

Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.

Soak 8 bamboo skewers in water for at least 15 minutes to prevent them from burning during cooking.

Prepare the peanut sauce by mixing together 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, 1/4 cup coconut milk, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon lime juice, and 1 teaspoon chili paste in a small saucepan.

2. Cooking

Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.

Thread the marinated beef strips onto the soaked skewers.

Place the skewers on the hot grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the beef is well-browned and cooked to your desired doneness.

While the beef is grilling, heat the peanut sauce over low heat for about 2-3 minutes, stirring until smooth.

Once cooked, remove the beef skewers from the grill and let them rest for a minute.

Serve the beef satay immediately with the warm peanut sauce on the side for dipping.
