1. Preparation
Gather all ingredients and tools needed for assembling the bagels.
Slice the bagels in half horizontally using a serrated knife.
Prepare the vegetables by washing and slicing the tomato into thin rounds and the red onion into thin rings.
Set aside a small bowl and fill it with capers.
2. Assembling the Bagel
Spread a generous layer of cream cheese on the cut side of each bagel half.
Place 2-3 slices of lox over the cream cheese on each bagel half.
Layer the sliced tomato and red onion on top of the lox.
Sprinkle capers over the vegetables for added flavor.
Finish with a sprinkle of freshly cracked black pepper, if desired.
